No, I ain’t running out of words here, it’s indeed the name of Tom Ford’s Spring/Summer 2018 collection! This fashion week marks the return of Tom Ford to New York doing a traditional fashion show, after showing briefly in Paris, Milan, and London. He actually stayed back in Paris for 10 years and London 20.
And finally, he’s back with his collection ‘Fabolous’. Well was it? Yes, in all the meanings of Fabulous, the collection was more than fabulous. It’s inspired from the 1990’s era and he’s brought back the broad shoulders, pantless trend back in the fashion scene!
Known for his exquisite tailoring of his menswear suit, the same was very evident in this collection too. He;s bought back the 90’s double breasted blazers to shoulder pads back with a bang. The pantless trend was also something to look for and with the perfect use of glitter.
The body suits tucked in and the baggy pants worn really low, the blazer on shots trend and the use of bright and pastel colour pallet were remarkable.
To choose between denim, leather, those overcoats and the 90’s mini skirts. I was seriously spoilt for choices.
And then those futuristic gowns, with patterned sleeves. Most were glammed up and glittery just the Kendal’s was made of leather. tom Ford in an interview with Vogue said Kendall had to be sewed in the gown just before the show. How totally fabulous is that?
I am totally in love with this Spring Ready-to-wear collection from Tom Ford.
