Monochrome Loving

“Women think of all colors except the absence of color. I have said that black has it all. White too. Their beauty is absolute. It is the perfect harmony.”

– Coco Chanel.

So, that oughta tell you my today’s styling story is about some monochrome loving. No, I certainly don’t hate colours, nor I am in any weird phase in my life, it’s just about a day when I picked a certain top and a certain shorts, and thought let’s do this.

A very big part of a woman’s life consists of “not having anything to wear”, and we sure are mocked for it, given the stares and dragged to our wardrobes brimming with outfits, showing us our own collection. Like, Hello! Who do you think has bought all of that?

The thing is there is a different outfit for every different occasion – one for a BFF’s birthday, one for bae’s birthday, for outing with friends we love, outing with friends we hate, movie nights, special dinners, Sunday brunches and the list goes on… And when an unannounced event comes up, it disturbs the routine and sort of ticks the crazy clock. So, just on one of those indecisive days and post monsoon humid-Mumbai, I had planned a shoot.

And I ended up wearing this white and black striped crop-top with my black shorts. I was loving the whole monochrome vibe and decided to style it with black boots itself. It’s perfect for this weather and tying the hair up in the bun, gives a fuss-free feel. I was happy with how it all came along.

So, go on and try something along the line yourself. Because sometimes it’s good to see things in black and white. And if you like to keep things simple and minimal, the season’s monochrome trend is the perfect style solution. The colour combination of black and white is as timeless as it is flattering.
